Drathok stepped into the hell's break room, silencing the eternal screams with a close of the door.
Calmness washed over him as he exhaled, decompressing from another shift of punishment. A cold beer and a Lakers game were so close. Two more torture sessions, and he was done.
His watch vibrated, and the break was over. With a deep breath, he opened the doors and let the screams accept him.
A cup of coffee also keeps the creative juices running here in the lab!
I am taking a break from my writing and joining in. Here is my take:
----
Biting cold winds slashed past Jeff's skin as he fought his way through the winter storm. His companion, who lay injured on the makeshift sled he made after their emergency landing on the remote bush, spurred him to be on the move.
Slowly, he moved, carefully pulling his heavy sled, growing a little nervous. Just as the snowstorm cleared, the ice under his feet broke and cracks after cracks followed.

PROMPT: BREAK
THE ACTRESS
6am. It was still dark when she started driving.
She had hardly slept. She was just too excited. This was going to be her big break.
She checked her reflection. The puffy eyes she couldn't fix but she could put on a little lipstick. Look a bit presentable.
As she tried to apply it, she didn't notice the car drifting into the opposite lane.
She never saw the truck coming... 😎
