Demon hunters live in shadows so others can enjoy the light. Axel knew this when he stepped on this lonely path twenty years ago.
Now wrinkled, covered in scars, with gray in his hair and beard, he took on one last demon. From dusk till dawn, the crypt shook with their battle.
Axel emerged victorious and sat at a step outside, pale as snow, the last drops of his blood escaping through his wounds.
The warmth of the morning sunlight spread across his face, and peace filled his soul.
He closed his eyes, his breathing slowing down, rest at last. c
