Jason held the flashlight to his face. "They say that on the night of the blood moon. A Scarecrow appears in our fields, and anyone who dares to venture there at night gets lost!"
The kids scattered, running back to their homes.
"Dumb, kids," Jason laughed and began his journey through the dark crops as the crimson moon lit his path, whistling a tune.
The fields whistled the tune back in a crackling voice.
Jason stopped in his tracks. He followed the voice, blood freezing in his veins.Â
"tHeEey saAAaaY, bLooOOOd mOoN, sCaREcRoW,"Â an otherworldy voice echoed.

PROMPT: SCARECROW
THE SCARECROW
We quickly took down the old, weather-beaten scarecrow and replaced it with our new one, carefully making sure the arms and legs were firmly attached to the sturdy, wooden support frame.
Next, we stuffed the sleeves and trouser legs of his clothes with straw and drew a nice big smile on his face, along with a moustache and a pair of rosy cheeks.
The hat we’d found in the pub’s lost property box added the perfect finishing touch.
And then we left our very drunk friend there, to spend the rest of his Stag Night propped up in a field… 😎
Back to your usual tone I see. Lovely creepy story Miguel. I can't help but remember the horror flick Jeepers Creepers.
