She peeks across the room, catching his eyes. Both of them reading the same book, she smiles at him, he nods at her laughing.
They go through the same pages, almost as if reading together. Stealing quick side-eyes of one another.
A conversation struck, over a book full of love.

This one is called “The Alchemy of Love”
He labored in his secret laboratory amid powers that seemed benign but also malevolent and mocking. Familiar tromping grounds revealed strange new flora and fauna…from this bounty he garnered dark sustenance.
Eureka! The fool had discovered the formula for love and his world would ne’er be the same again.
(It plays out as a dialogue)
“I know you’re awake,”
“I wanted it to be like a cheezy movie moment - she watches him sleep,” he replied, smiling with his eyes closed.
“How long did you watch me sleep?” She caressed his cheek.
“I don’t know. Maybe since dawn,”
“You should’ve slept,”
“I don’t want to waste my life sleeping. Not when I finally feel that life is worth living,”
