"The brave men and women of the international space station worked hard to uncover the mysteries of the universe. To this day, I wonder: what did they find? What horrors made them open the doors. What made them choose suffocation in space rather than facing it?"
The recording bounced in the endless silence of the universe as the recorder escaped the investigator's fingers, his breathless floating around the ISS.

His unrecognisably burnt body horrified me. I couldn’t let Dad endure years of endless suffering. I knew my Dad: “Just unplug me," that's what he’d say.
After a while, his twitching stopped and I lifted the pillow.
"Goodbye Dad. I'll always love you,"
"What do you mean, goodbye, Son?"
My father's lightly bandaged face poked round the door "Nurse said you were down here... and who's that poor bastard?"
When i saw my father's terribly burnt body in the hospital, it was horrifying. Horrifying to think of him having to live like this, through all the pain that would be coming. years and years of suffering.
"If it comes to the worst, just unplug me," that's what he always said.
I took a spare pillow and pressed it over his face. After a while, his twitching stopped and I took the pillow away.
"Goodbye Dad. I'll always love you,"
"What do you mean, goodbye, Son?"
My father's lightly bandaged head poked round the door "Nurse said you were here... and who's that crispy fried fucker?"
