“How much?” Jim asked, his brother’s pleading eyes breaking him for the hundredth time.
“Just a couple hundred bucks. I’ll get it back, I promise!” Jim’s brother said. “I owe this little dude, it’s the last time. Really.”
With a sigh, Jim folded. “This is the last time…” he said with a sliver of naive hope that it was true.
Mere days later, those eyes stared at him, and the begs were louder than before. “How much?” Jim asked, again.

Finite time. Worn in the wrong places.

Ted scarfed his lunch. It was about that time.
“Prompt’s here! 70 words on eczema. Do I go sappy or snarky?”
“It’s Groundhog Day. Same every 24 hours. You jump.”
“I love it!”
“You’ve done it from the ER. In the woods. Behind the wheel!”
“I love it!”
“Do you? Seems like you’re trapped. All you have to do is step off the treadmill. Anytime. Why do you do it?”
“I say this with love. You’ve never written, have you?”
