The mists swirled between the headstones as ghostly figures danced in them. At first, they were just silhouettes, barely more than a wisp of turquoise glow. But as the mists embraced them, their features began to show.
As their faces emerged, surprise flickered across their ethereal forms.
“James?”
“Mia!”
“Oh my god! I spent decades looking for you!”

"Sixty years! Man, that's amazing! How do you do it?"
Grandpa took me aside. "Kid, the stuff about better or worse, richer or poorer, sickness and health, loving and cherishing, that's the easy part. Remember to love her through anger and forgiveness, sadness and happiness, to insanity and beyond. Life changes, but the love's always there. Tobias stood in the front of the packed church. Resplendent in his rented tuxedo. Coiffed and manicured for the big day. Filled with abounding joy. So many friends and family gathered together. Saw his parents softly weeping in the front row. A cloudless day. He’d been paired with a beautiful woman. Looked forward to an amazing party. He’d been to a lot of weddings but never as a part of one. He looked down the row past the other ushers to the beaming bride and his brother the groom. He vowed he would never be caught dead in that position.
