I wore bright clothes like armor to hide the real me in the crowd. Smiled and laughed to mask the loneliness. Brightness concealed the heart dipped in the night. Nobody could see the fear through it, nor the pain.

Reality behind the story
As I walked home today, wearing a bright red jacket and a bright red cap. I stuck out of the crowd. Which is strange since I’m generally pretty closed off person, yetI like to wear bright clothes. Me thinking about it sparked the “I wore bright clothes like armor” and then I just let the pen go. It’s not much of a story really, but it is genuine, I think…
Also I really wanted to use that last line even though it doesn’t fit as much 😭
The guidance counselor did a double take when she saw the aptitude results for Edward, who by all appearances was too dumb to pour piss out of a boot.
Hatched a new career suggestion in light of his subterranean brightness.
“Maybe the CIA. Clearly you excel at keeping things secret.”
You can see them in the early grades at school
Their brightness and energy so pumped up for life and learning, IIt all seems like a big adventure

I was taught to read after teaching myself. The first grade teacher would let me go on and on when it was my turn. Once I stopped because I thought I had read way much more than anybody else, and the teacher thought I didn't know the word.
