She drew a line in the sand. “This far, no further.”

Waves licked it away.

She built a fence. They climbed over.

She locked the door. They found another way in.

Finally, she stood, arms crossed, heart steeled.

“No.”

This time, they hesitated.

This time, she didn’t move.

This time, the boundary held.
