Life was like a game of poker. And I’ve been given shitty hands day after day. Forced to bid even when I didn’t want to.
Life held aces—every time—money problems, sickness. I expected to get fired and maybe lose my house. Let life enjoy its four of a kind.
The river changed everything; no aces, just a queen. Time to go all-in.
Dealer’s note:
Hey folks! I hope everyone’s having a great friday! Just FYI there won’t be a Batch tomorrow as I’ll be away and unable to make it. I hope y’all enjoy your weekend, looking forward to seeing your stories on cards! :)
I have been little less active on comments this week, but I’m reading y’all and you guys are the best. ❤️
Stu’s life was blackjack. He’d won some, lost some. Some 21’s, some busts. Was staring at the worst two card hand of his life. Maybe his last. Worst hand known to man. Snowmen, double 8’s? Even worse. Madame Rosa turned over the Death card plus the 10 of Swords. Finito. Stu was a pro to the last. Tipped the dealer.
CARDS
The baseball cards were being carefully reviewed by 10-year-old Carey. He worshipped the major league ballplayers. The cards brought them closer to him and made them more alive and real. He could see their faces and study their stats. He even created his own game to play with the cards to make it all more authentic and officially real baseball.
