Lines upon lines. Pages stained with dreams. Muses slain to sate the beast in me. The one that wanted me on top or die trying. So I wrote.
Release on release, awards, ovations—the beast wanted more.

Bestseller, genius, greatest of all time. The top was bellow me. And the beast? Insatiable. It wanted more, but there was nothing left to devour… except me.
The gals sat around the lunch table at the country club chopping it up.
“Once a week, enough is enough,” said Shelly.
“Twice,” offered Fran to some raised eyebrows, “if my hip is working.”
Hedy arrived late, hearing the tail end of the convo, jumped in. “Oh, four or five times a week, sometimes twice Saturday. Hy is insatiable.”
The tabled erupted.
Hedy backtracked quickly. “We’re talking about pickleball, right?”
There once was a lass named Delores,
Whose lovers all left in a chorus.
She’d sigh and she’d flirt,
Wear them down to the dirt.
Then ask, “Any more to adore us?”
But the more that she tangled and teased,
The less she felt sated or pleased.
With a wink and a grin,
She’d go diving back in,
Insatiable, wicked, and pleased.
