Goddamn complaining morons everywhere. I can’t stand them. The moment a drop of rain falls, it’s always:
“It’s pissing again!”
“Fuck this weather!”
“My so and so got canceled… boo hoo…”
Ungrateful fucks… They should be grateful. The moment the shutters close on the world and the clouds come. The perfect time for PJs, tea, and a book comes.
And I never say no to a Lazy Day.
Dealer’s note:
This one was just a thought vomit of mine on a way to work when it rained last week. And I kept it that way cause a lazily written story for a Lazy Day prompt feels appropriate.
Jordan lays on his beach towel soaking in the suns rays and listening to the sound of waves gently crashing on the beach. He reaches for his margarita, condensate dripping from the sides of the cold glass.
“This is the life,” he sighs before taking a sip.
A sound like an elevator bell rings out within his head, and digital red letters form in front of his eyes.
‘Reminder, five minutes before simulation is terminated. Please add funds to your account’.
“Damn,” he thinks, ”Lazy Days is so expensive”.
Gramps was old school. At 70 he could tar a roof in heat that would make a royal palm seek shade. Kyle traded his gaming chair and Beats for a summer job with the old man. After day one he barely could sputter out a question. “Will every day be like this?”
“Nah,” said his pops. “We’ll have lazy days like today when I’m feeling my age, otherwise we’ll work.”
