Jenny wiped the sweat off her brow, leaving a streak of mud on her face. The straw hat did a little to shield her from the sun.
The old crone from next door was judging her garden over the fence. Again.
She forced a smile and waved. “Hey, Karen!”
Karen’s nose wrinkled. “Those tomatoes are growing too fast.”
“I told you. It’s the compost.”
“Yeah? What ’bout it?”
Jenny stomped a severed pinkie into the dirt. “That’s a secret, Karen. A secret.”

PROMPT: SECRETS
THE SECRET LAIR
With an evil smile on his face, the supervillain was getting ready to execute his latest nefarious plan.
There were superheroes who needed to be outsmarted, and a whole world that needed to be taken over.
But before all that could happen, he needed to figure out why his brand new supercomputer wasn’t receiving a broadband signal down here in his secret lair, when he’d paid for the top package… 💻😎💻
It sat in her gut, gnawing away like a beaver chewing logs to build its dam.
Doubts and emotions had continued and had built like that dam. She wasn't certain how much longer she could endure; however, she dreaded confrontation and instability.
"Please, Universe," she prayed, "show me what must be done."
A spat answered the question. A split occurred. She was in a small part frightened, but more so jubilant.
The secret was out. The dam was gone. She was free.
