Hey! This is our weekly poetry trip.
Today is a shorter one! Wrote this in a car as it rained on my windshield while waiting for my Cinderella :) Some people just love the idea of things.
Don’t forget to write with me if you feel inspired! A poem or a micro fiction piece up to 100 words on the prompt Loving the idea!
You said: I love the rain Yet you hide from the slightest drizzle You love the sun yet hide in the shadow neither is causing you pain Is your heart that shallow? You love snow, but only in the picture You adore the mountains (until you have to walk) Throw the love of the beach into the mixture The one you watch from the bar When you said you loved me—was it just talk? If not, then why’re you still so far? I know, it’s the idea of me and you A fantasy of being a boo Not ready for the real and true. Too hard for you to chew Cover and imagine under your umbrella I’ll dance in the rain with my cinderella.
Loving the Idea vs. Living the Idea
Getting married
Having kids
Trying grad school
Starting biz
See the birthplace of the toga
Sweat your way through fiery yoga
Haul your fat ass on a jog
Beg for eyeballs on your blog
Defer your dreams ‘til you retire
Hoping that you don’t expire
Loving these ideas and such
Put to practice not so much
PROMPT: LOVING THE IDEA
THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME
"Let's go to Australia", she said,
"To see the kangaroos, and Sydney",
And I loved the idea, but unfortunately,
I booked the wrong flight,
On the travel website,
And we ended up in Austria instead... 😎
