Hi! Welcome to another edition of the Batch!
This was one of my favorite weeks of Microdosing! Thank you for reading and joining in! You’re the one who makes this thing possible.
I’m changing the approach to the Batch slightly, I’ll share 5ish stories from each prompt. I’ll make sure not to duplicate writers, and will try to make sure that week to week, we’re getting different voices represented. So if you’re not in this one, you’ll be in the next!
This achieves that the mentioned writers will get way more visibility, than when there’s 100 stories in the Batch. Each Batch will also be that more unique, because we won’t see all the names all the time. So go ahead and give these 35 awesome writers some love, but before that let’s talk Volcanos :)
Our prompt for today is VOLCANO
Write a story in 60 words!
To join in on the challenge, leave a comment or restack the story with your own!
With a paid subscription you can choose the next prompt and in turn challenge me to write you a tailored story!
“A kid stole her doll, and she bit him! She’s screaming all the time. There’s so much anger stuffed in that little body. It’s like she has lava in her veins.” Francis massaged her temples, the marks of motherhood etched under her eyelids.
Her mother chuckled. “Well, that’s not surprising. She’s yours, after all, and I always called you my little volcano.”

A typical teen, Rusty plum forgot about the assigned Earth Science presentation. There he was in front of the class, reduced to ad libbing about volcanoes. “This is a simulation of the Mount St. Helens eruption,” he said, encircling the zit with thumb and pointer finger and beginning to squeeze. That is when the screaming and covering of eyes began.
60 word Volcano
I try not to interrupt when I'm told to shut up,
forced into silence, labeled abrupt.
You mistake my quiet for weak
reflection,
but beneath it brews volcanic
objection.
Stay a while and you'll see
That you are not important to me.
Simple as it seems,
I believe you're quite mean,
thriving on cruelty, cold, and obscene,
Spreading your bitterness.
