They say that we’ve been blessed by gods when the messages began to come.
Nobody really knows why they happen or who is behind them, but every morning there is a new message on your wrist. Telling you one thing that will happen to you that day.
They are often vague and sometimes less reliable than Chinese fortune cookies but they are scary nonetheless.
Today when I woke up, there was a new one.
You will meet your soulmate at a funeral.
“Great…” I mumbled to myself before I went to do my morning routine. I had no funerals planned for today, so this one made no sense.
I continued my day as usual. Made breakfast, played with my dog, called my mom, exercised for a while, and went on with my day - Just a regular sunday.
There was not much to do besides going to town pick up a couple of things and do some errands.
As I got into my car raindrops began to fall onto my window.
Looks like another rainy day is upon us. Like we didn’t have enough of those already.
I was always a bit grumpy, when it rained. Especially behind the wheel. People, for some reason, just forget how to drive, when droplets of water fall from the sky.
I got to one of the crosses on my way to town. There was very little traffic on Sundays and I hardly bothered to look at both sides of the road.
I pressed the gas pedal and heard an ear-shattering honk. My eyes widened as I saw a giant truck going straight at me, with an equally scared driver behind the wheel waving his hands from side to side.
I guess there is going to be a funeral today. Sadly, I won’t be able to speak to my soulmate there.
That's good. Short stories always need a good twist at the end...
