Hi there!
This was supposed to be the Into The Lab monthly update, but I got too excited. So let me show you what I’ve been cooking up these last few weeks.
Microdosing Fiction Collection!
To be honest, I can’t believe I’m even announcing this. But yes! It’s finally here. I’ve told you about preparing a collection of my micro-fiction before. But now I’ve finally something to show you!
What you see below is not a final version. Someone else would probably wait until everything is ready, but I’m too excited. I want to show what I’ve got, even though it’s a version 0.9 right now.
The collection will contain 100 of my micro-stories. Most are from my Substack, but nearly all of them went through edits. Many are from when I was just starting, but they were changed as if I had written them today. On top of that there’s a few collection-exclusive stories included!
It wouldn’t be a Microdosing without the prompts. This whole series is about inspiring others to write, and the collection follows this spirit. Each story is accompanied by a blank page, a space dedicated for you to write your own story.
I don’t want these to stay on your shelf after you skimmed a couple of stories, had a laugh, and left it. I want these books to be used, drawn in by your children, and with ink all over their pages. Make each copy your own; make it unique.
The collection is aimed at being released in the second half of November. I’ll update you soon with the exact date!
You can be a part of the Collection!
This whole thing wouldn’t be possible without the monetary support I was given from my awesome paid subs. So, as a tribute, I’ll include every paid sub of The Fiction Dealer in the acknowledgment sections of the book! (obviously, only if they want to)
If you upgrade your sub until the end of September, you’ll be a part of this with me!
Founding members of the Fiction Dealer will get the collection for free, signed, and personalized!
I also plan to share more behind the scenes of the whole process with my paid subs. So stay tuned for that!
Binding and Pricing
The idea is to make the collection available in paperback and hardback editions. The reason is that the printing price of the hardbacks is insane. So offering both kinda covers everything.
The hardbacks will likely be a bit pricey, but the writing experience is better, they are more durable, and, as hardbacks tend to do, they look cooler.
The paperback will be more reasonably priced. The book needs to be broken in a bit, but then the writing experience is also fine. They are also slightly lighter and more portable, which could be better for some of you!
For the pricing I have a ballpark estimate, and I’ll share that once everything is accounted for. For now I would love to hear your opinion about the price!
I’m honestly shaking with anxiety right now. I almost can’t believe this is real. A book with my name on it in my hands is just crazy. Thank you for reading and supporting The Fiction Dealer, this wouldn’t be possible without you.
I’ll share more soon.
