The soft, playful melody bounced down the street, and too many emotions erupted in Toby's tiny body; waterfalls rushed from his eyes, barely breathing between sobs, and practically drowning in snot.
But it was futile. No matter how hard he cried, the ice cream truck wasn't coming back.  Â

He floated gently down the river. The water almost flat apart from a few ripples that nudged him from side to side.
Bobbing up and down increased along with the pace of the water. He gripped the rim of his barrel tightly as his friends cheered him over the edge.

THE FANGS
The blood was spurting everywhere, like a waterfall.
Once again, he’d been too eager to feed and had sunk his fangs in too quickly. Too deeply.
He was still not ready to leave the nest.
His Maker scolded him.
Then handed him another rat, and told him to keep practising… 😎
