SAND (prompt) — Don’t flail around in the quicksand of mediocrity. You know better. That type of sand will suck the life out of you with its ghastly grit and its grossly grainy quagmire of new doubt. “Don’t settle, Bosco! Don’t do it! Buck up! “Fight those demons,” demanded Levi. “Fight’em with everything!”
Thanks for mentioning one of my stories! Some wonderful work there again this week. It's always fascinating to see how one word can inspire so many different interpretations. Well done everyone... 😎
PROMPT: SAND
THE SAND
Usually, she loved to feel the sand beneath her feet and between her toes.
It was comforting and cosy. Soft and warm.
But not this time.
Her egg timer had smashed on the kitchen floor, spilling its contents everywhere.
And it was going to be a pain to clean up… 😎

Wow. Great stories! And thank you for the mention. That one was a lot of fun to write, and to capture the visuals in words.
The earnest young warrior struggled to find something to say to his love, the beautiful princess...
At last! He had the words that would sweep her away:
“I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.”
She dropped her bucket and spade and walked away.
Thanks for the mention! I have just discovered this page, and I'm so excited to write these vignettes and read what others have created.
We’re excited to have you with us Lia 😁🫶
50 mg of Sand
"The small mineralised crystals
of different sizes,
each one like
A multicoloured Universe,
They stick to my body
like the warmth of your embrace,
one by one
and they stay,
so that I can feel them
Like that first kiss
I gave you
on that beach with the little crystals"
