Oh wow... horrible but wonderful. You might appreciate "The Stupidest Angel," by Christopher Moore, a funny take on the Christmas zombie theme. I re-read it every year! 😂
Awesome, I loved this, very vivid imagery and sense of tension and forboding throughout which builds to a satisfying (depending on who you're routing for) ending! Particularly liked the descriptions of the reindeer-monsters. Technical question, what program did you use for the audio? It was pretty flawless.
I listened to it in the car, on my way home from Jiujitsu tonight - happy days, maybe the audio is something that Substack does automatically? I just hit the play button on the top right hand corner of your post, and rock-and-roll.
Yeah it was pretty flawless, I prefer obviously to read all I can on here, but sometimes its hard to find the time - the audio really helps, and like I said, it really didn't deplete my experience. Good job!
Excellent - I'm starting a novel project next year, so will also be experimenting with audio going forward, i think it can really help with engagement.
Ha! Love this twist!
This is awesome! I genuinely thought the Chesters might be ok because of all the food they had prepared...
This is so you.
Haha. I like this story a lot.
I can tell! It shines through.
Fantastic imagery! The evil Santa trope is always fun!!
Absolutely great! Loved it! Held the suspense with awesome descriptions.
So good!
Thank you Rosie!

Thank you CJ! I'm not sure what you mean by audio, there's no audio in the post.

That is a Substack (AI I guess) voiceover but holy hell it actually sound pretty good 😂 I never tried to use it. That's cool.

I actually plan to have voiceovers in my flash fiction pieces next year. Proper ones so busy people can listen to the stories easily 😁

What a great idea for a story. Really cool imagery, turning the familiar into the sinister. Wonderful stuff.
Yeah I love to play with the familiar imagery haha. Wait for the next weeks story. That's also a lot of fun :)
Hahaha I love this!!!
❤️ thank you!

Exactly!
